A Little Bit About Me

My name is Elina and I am an academically trained and accredited member of the Professional Photographers of Canada with experience working in different countries.

I studied photography in Jerusalem in the early 2000s (the time when digital photography was just being discovered!).

I was fortunate enough to create magic myself by developing and printing BW and color images.

I was learning to use different camera formats as well as studying Photoshop.

Then came exhibitions in Israel followed by grants.

After graduation, I was doing event photography, then returned to St. Petersburg and started fresh.

My work was shown at local galleries and exhibitions.

I had the chance to collaborate with interesting artists and people from the world of performance arts (theater and cinema).

Thanks to my family, I began branding and headshot photography while mastering visual storytelling and professional studio lighting.

Wherever I am in the world, my camera is always with me.

Recently my family and I moved to Alberta.

We moved here from Ontario, where I had the opportunity to shoot many professionals and entrepreneurs.

I’ve discovered branding and headshot photography in recent years and fell in love with it.

It is a style of photography where you don’t need to take the right pose and get all nervous.

In my photographs, you can be yourself and see your professionalism and trustworthiness shine.

Photography is painting with light, which means my childhood dream has come true.
